Royal London is committed to making its websites as accessible as possible to everyone regardless of disability, language level or other differences in personal circumstances. Our aims are to ensure everyone can access our websites effectively and meet our obligations under the Equality Act.

We have designed our website so that they can be used by customers who may or may not have existing experience and knowledge of online financial services. To do this, we have tried to use plain English and give clear instructions. All users of our websites are able to contact Royal London via phone, email and post.

We strive to ensure that our websites, wherever possible, meet the standards of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.0 established by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C).

We also:

  • perform specific accessibility checks as part of the development checkpoints that the development must go through before release;
  • ensure that new content is clearly presented and written in a way that is easy to understand and follow; and
  • look for new devices, technologies or user behaviour or expectations that would change the accessibility requirements of the websites.

Most of the content available on our websites is written in HTML, but we also use other formats such as PDF. For these, we use accessible authoring techniques and make reasonable efforts to provide alternative accessible versions.
